What do you need from me to quote a custom crate?

The packed dimensions, the weight, and how the item needs to be lifted. A photograph or a rough sketch tells us more than a long written description, particularly where the shape is awkward or the weight sits to one side. Note which points can carry load and which surfaces must not be touched. If the goods are going to a customer with their own packaging rules, or through a freight forwarder, send those instructions as well. Most of the back and forth on a crate quote comes from these details arriving one at a time.

Can you repair or modify a crate we already have?

Sometimes. It depends on the condition of the timber, whether the fixings are still sound, and whether the crate was built for the load it is now being asked to carry. Send photographs including the base and any visible damage, and tell us what went wrong last time if it has already made a trip. If it can be modified we will say so. If the structure has been compromised we will tell you that too, because a repaired crate that fails in transit costs more than a new one.
